And the ultra-groovy Matt Farrer emailed me and recommended The Watchmen, which gives me a minimum two new bands to check out!

It'll be songs about chickens next, I reckon :)

Oh, and Mark? Anyone who can publicly recommend Michael Buble to another human being knows depths of horror I can't even begin to imagine. Guns 'n Roses did "Paradise City" which mentions Captain America, the Beatles mention Captain Marvel in "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill", Pink Floyd did Doctor Strange in "Cymbaline", Henry Rollins has a song called "Ghostrider", The Beastie Boys reference the Human Torch in "Body Movin'" ("Flame on, I'm gone..."). The Spin Doctors didn't just do "A Pocket Full of Kryptonite", they also did "Jimmy Olsen Blues" off the same album. Wings did "Magneto and Titanium Man", Tori Amos mentions Sandman in "Tear in your Hand", the Ramones covered "Spiderman", and XTC recorded "That’s Really Super, Supergirl".

I wish I could say I knew off this off the top of my head, I really do. But I cheated. :)

http://www.urbangeek.net/supersongs/index.htmlAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10868795185945774196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5917837.post-11518044171330617652007-08-29T15:54:00.000+08:002007-08-29T15:54:00.000+08:00Will I be in any danger if I suggest 'The land of ...Will I be in any danger if I suggest 'The land of make believe' by Bucks Fizz (Superman is mentioned)Ariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13461964506680234217noreply@blogger.com
